If it’s failed multiple years in a row — or has the same issues every year — walk away.

2. Ignoring Missing Service History
A car with no paperwork is a gamble. It might be fine — or it might have missed key maintenance.
Ideally, you want a stamped book or a folder of receipts. At the very least, ask when the oil, timing belt, and brakes were last changed.
